New 3D Printing Strategy for Structured Carbon Devices Fabrication

This work shows a new method for the preparation of 100% carbon-structured devices. The is based on resorcinol-formaldehyde polymerization, using starch as binder with addition certain amount external carbon source before polymerization. Molds obtained by 3D printing are used to shape structured devices in desired shape, and ultimate pyrolysis step consolidates produces carbonaceous proposed allows obtaining supports different textural surface properties varying source, solvent, or conditions, among other factors. as-obtained have demonstrated their usefulness palladium gas-phase formic acid dehydrogenation reaction. monolith high conversion (81% according H2 production) selectivity towards hydrogen production at mild temperatures (80% 423 K).
